Mark J D’Angelo has worked in the music industry for over 15 years. Starting out as a classical clarinetist, he studied at Melbourne University under the tuition of MSO principal clarinetists. A love for composers such as Ravel, Tchaikovsky and film composers Michael Nyman and Hans Zimmer, led him to study orchestral composition at The Victorian College of the Arts.
During this time, D’Angelo had the pleasure of having his orchestral compositions and jazz/contemporary works performed at the ABC studios.
D’Angelo has also been heavily involved in the world of pop music, having performed at major festivals such as Good Vibrations, Stereosonic, Bass In The Grass, Future Music Festival, Groovin The Moo, Pyramid Rock, Splendour In The Grass and One Movement.
As an artist he has toured and shared the stage with bands such as, The Potbelleez, Silverchair, The B52’s, The Killers, The Hilltop Hoods, Basement Jaxx, Salt-n-Pepa, Sigur Ros, De La Soul, Naughty by Nature, Gym Class Heroes, Miami Horror, Missy Higgins, Pete Murray, Tim Rogers (You Am I), The Whitlams, Powderfinger, Rogue Traders, Art vs Science, The Presets.
With the love of film and music combined, The Backlot Studios & The Backlot Films was born.
Craig Jansson is the Head of Sound for The Backlot Post and the principal sound designer. With over 20 years industry experience, Craig’s career has spanned multiple audio disciplines including Film, Radio, Games, Television, Advertising & Documentaries. Craig is highly skilled in multiple aspects of sound production, including recording (studio & field), editing, composition, foley, sound design, mixing, voice direction, system design, implementation, cross studio team & project management and various formats of surround mixing.
